About PoliSci@UST…
We could give you the usual spiel that’s on the University of St. Thomas PoliSci page — we won’t. You’re more than welcome to read it… yawn… and then return to our blog.
Instead, we’ll just say that this blog will always be a work in progress, with some faculty posting more often than others. We pledge to not be boring (whenever possible), entertaining, informative, and engaging. Not that we’re necessarily the biggest fans of the guy, but Chairman Mao Zedong may have said it best on how we want to operate this blog:
“There is chaos under heaven and things could not be better.”
Oops! Sorry. That’s Taylor’s motto as Department Chair. Here’s the actual quote that we intended:
“Let a hundred flowers bloom. Let a hundred schools of thought contend.”
While we usually don’t go around quoting dead Chinese dictators — we prefer to quote from a broad spectrum of political figures that range from Burke to Rawls — Mao’s quote underscores our department’s philosophy: all opinions are welcome.
So who exactly are we? Just a bunch of PoliSci professors (four tenured, full-time faculty and eleven adjunct faculty) teaching at THE University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas… blogging about whatever strikes our fancy.

Glad to see the UST Political Science Department hitting the blogsphere once again. Hopefully this time it will be for good. I look foward to seeing posts from the other faculty members and seeing what sort of mayhem and hijinks ensue.
