Woo hoo!
One week from today, we’ll all be participating in the University of St. Thomas’ Commencement Day activities… which means a day of getting bored by “Pomp and Circumstance” played incessantly (we’re praying for “Louie, Louie” instead), engaging in the “he/she only thinks that he/she is graduating game,” placing bets on the over/under for our President’s use of his favorite phrase “leaders of faith and character” in one speech, and… holding a game day tailgate party for our PoliSci students both before and after Commencement.
Heh.
In honor of the week ahead, we present P.J. O’Rourke’s recent editorial in the L.A. Times entitled “Fairness, idealism, and other atrocities: Commencement advice you’re unlikely to hear elsewhere.” Enjoy!
